THE ANNUAL CULTURAL EXTRAVAGANZA
“You can't use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.”
Reflecting the above quotation time and again in its essence, Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College yet again motivated its students to come out and unleash their creativity in the annual intra college cultural festival, Cultural Day ’15, which was held successfully on 12th April, 2015.
Due to the unforeseen advancement of the UPTU End Semester examinations, the format of the traditional VIBRATIONS, which was typically a two-day cultural festival was converted into a one day Cultural Day ’15 which emerged to be its equal match in every aspect. Carrying forward the legacy of previous years, Cultural Day ’15, like VIBRATIONS, proved to be a staggering success, and provided the students and teachers alike a day full of fun-filled extravaganza. A total of 10 competitive events spanning across domains such as Face Painting, T Shirt Painting, Spoof, Mime, Singing, Dancing along with some interesting brain teasing contests provided the students a platform to showcase their talents and gave them an opportunity to break the shackles of the hectic courses and bundles of books.
The college societies SUR, TAAL, EUPHONY, GOONJ, TEAM FOOTPRINTS, ZEST, and RENAISSANCE worked hard towards the successful conduct of this annual festival, and their efforts were duly reciprocated by the student population that came out in huge numbers and participated with a spirit of healthy competition to win prizes and to have fun & frolic.
The event Flash Mob was a huge success as people turned up in large numbers to tap their feet in unison with the performances of team Taal. Spoof, organised by Goonj, attracted an equally huge multitude and the participants came out with innovative concepts. The Face Painting event of Team Footprints painted the entire college with seven colours of Creativity as students sported a big smile getting their painted faces clicked with team mates.
The Closing Ceremony was no less fascinating and was attended by the honourable Director Dr. R.K. Agarwal, HODs, Deans, Faculty Members, and Section In-charges. The major attraction of the ceremony remained the Mushaira which brought the audience to its feet as the students cheered and marvelled at the poetic excellence of Pratyush Kumar, Amaan Javed, Varun Sharma, and Sanchita Arora. A humorous skit by Goonj filled the atmosphere with excitement, and was equally complemented by power packed performances from the Sur and Taal societies. The event finally concluded as the Student Convenors Ashwani Ashish and Abhishek Mishra, on behalf of the all the other convenors took the stage to express their Vote of Thanks. They thanked the honourable Director Sir for gracing the occasion with his benign presence. A special thanks was extended to the Dean Students Welfare Prof. V.K. Parashar and the acting DSW Prof. I.P. Sharma for their vital role in the organisation of the event and for guiding the student convenors with their wisdom at every step. In the end the convenors thanked each and everyone involved in making Cultural Day ’15 such a memorable event. With the words of gratitude still ringing in the students’ ears, the Cultural Day 2015 finally concluded in all its glory.
